Help with Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster mods

Post by mwdavis14 »

Hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can assist with this.

Looking to build a Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster. Nik suggested the following mods

1) 3 way mid boost

2) HRM defeat switch - enable defeating the HRM tonestack for more gain and
openness like the non HRMs.

3) JM Mod (slight mod to the values to sweeten the cleans ala John Mayer),

and I'd like to also install a LNFB switch. Nik has confirmed that none of these are difficult and he'd be happy to do them for me if I have him build the amp. However, I am looking for the fun of the build and he has no layouts

I can follow a layout to build, but have no idea how to properly design these mods. The JM mod is regularly available from Ceriatone, but Nik would not advise me of the value changes to accomplish it.

Here is a link to the layout for the Bluesmaster; http://www.ceriatone.com/images/layoutP ... BM-50W.jpg

Can someone help w/layout for the LNFB switch & 3 way mid boost? Anyone know of the value changes for the JM Mod?

I've heard mixed things about the functionality of the HRM defeat switch. Anyone have experience with whether its a worthwhile mod and, if so, can you help with the layout?

Thanks in advance! I'm an eager learner w/design, but still too green to trust my own skills in the layout

Not trying to be unfriendly, but have you used the search function here or visited the Ceriatone forum site? There's lot's of great general "Dumble" info in these parts, one just has to be willing to put in the work to gain it's benefits.

I'm sure someone on the Ceriatone forum has been down your road before.

2) There are or were Ceriatone OTS layouts with the LNFB switch
TS defeat) I simply used a push/pull mid pot to break the ground connection at the mid pot on the HRM.

LNFB switch) search function https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=5594

Thanks very much. I've been looking on the site, but the volume of information makes it hard to sort and the layout of the Bluesmaster is quite different. I do appreciate your comment and will continue to look

Don't get caught in the the extra mods, try get to a basic understanding the just the core build first.

Exactly right.
Build first, mod later.
