RCA 12AX7 black plate V-1 & V-2, PI V-3 Siemens ECC-83 date 1962.
Tesla brown base 00-getter NOS EL-34 Voltage B+1 495v V-1 pin 1&6 195v
V-2 pin 1&6 200v V-3 pin 1&6 300v Bias -34mA.
Speaker EVM12-S. V-1 plates 135k 2k2/ 135k 2k2

Nicely done as usual, Steve! I guess that original Drake OT has a lot to do with the tone, along with those old Tesla EL34s.

What about the precision power supply? You think that is doing something nice too in this build?

David, Thank you. I am a fan of the precision power Supply due to the fact It's difficult to obtain
high quality axial capacitors now. I went loose on the filters 33uf @ 450v = 16.5uf @ 900v
I had my mind set on a celestion Gold 12" then tried a celestion G12-65 a Celestion neo 12"
1968 Jensen C12N I was going for a light weight combo that didn't happen.
EVM12L then the EVM12-S was the hands down winner. The cabinet is all mahogany plywood.
I have a 100 watt version of this amp it was bright on the top end a FANE Studio 12L solved that.

We've been using the TAD axial caps available from Mojotone, price is quite reasonable and the amps sound great.

Bill, Thank you for the information on the TAD axial capacitors My issue is I live in Alaska
UPS & FEDX is off the charts price wise. Last time I checked Mojotone would not use USPS.
I like the Mallory TC series the price is to high now. I build amps just for fun.
I'm building a pair of 150 watt amps for a friend after that I'm going back to my tool manufacturing.
I am also very disappointed with the new parts I had two belton 8 pin tube sockets shorted out
can't tell by looking at them had to use a ohm meter the Chinese robot must of had a bad day.

Take care, Steve.

FWIW, TAD axials are rebranded F&T caps. Those sockets were they actual Beltons or the clones?

Thank you Mike I don't care for the black F & T capacitors. As far as I know the belton 8 pin sockets
are real I purshesed them from Antique Electronic Supply It is possible they are counterfit.
More than likley just a bad batch they look real to me. 2 out of 16 are deftive.
The good part of the story is that any guitar sounds great in this 50 watt amp it sings.

There are defective Belton octal clones? Wooo! I didn't know that. I haven't had any problems yet, but I'm just about out of stock and need to get some more.

Anyone know how to tell the clones from the real ones? I thought they were made in Korea, is it now trouble with Chinese production or what?

Are we seeing the same thing with the noval sockets?

Look's like I better test every tube socket before I procead Just to be safe.
On the last 100 watt ODS with the bad octal Belton it killed 4 matched quads of my test power tubes.
Now I don't have any quads of test power tubes. Will have to order some new production for the start
up and burn in. will not use NOS for start up. It makes me sick I have 4 builds to finish then I'm done.
