hi to all. i've all but completed a d-lite ish, build. the chassis and cab are repro princeton, from TAD in germany. i've used deluxe trans, no relay switching at the moment, not much room. bright mid pab od/clean all on the front panel. i've got jj 6v6's on order, but have 5881's in there right now, will they run away with to much current at giging volume? sound good tho. the op trans is a fender 6k6 with only an 8ohm tap, i have a g12-65 16ohm speaker, a miss match, but do you think it will run ok? any help greatly appreciated.
terry.

Re: new d-lite-ish.
At typical plate voltages, 5881's want to see a 4k load, and you're showing them 13k2. Much too high, IMO. Even the 6V6's will probably be better used with an 8 ohm speaker load for the nominal 6k6 primary.

hi martin, you're reply is much appreciated. i haven't run this amp on a 16 ohm speaker, i fired it up on an 8 ohm cab. i have a 16 ohm g12-65, hence the previous question. i put the 5881's in, just to try the amp really,= impatience.
 many thanks.
