I have been chasing this dragon for a couple of years now Mark.
I have had many hints but no definitive info.
From what I can gather the mods seemed to vary.
I would like to build one that is the same as the YouTube Deluxe clip :)

Sebago does these mods now, I have just found.

This is some information I have:

=================================

Study the Dumble Modded Deluxe Reverb Hotel hog pics, they're in the same ballpark as an Ultra Phonix. Classic stack (low plate) on one channel, Blues master (high plate) on the other, change the Photocell trem to the Bias modulation type.

Add ftsw'able Full Mega Boost stack lift to the Bluesmaster side, and a regular PAB to the classic side via relay's

He also pulled the old board and installed a new fiber board, just pretty much using the existing cloth heater wire.

Some also used the opto bug as well.

I had the rare chance to sit down and A/B/C a stock Showman with an actual Dumble Ultra phonix modded Showman and another builders copy of an Ultra phonix showman. Amazingly, I found the stock Showman to be by far the better sounding amp. Both clean and with 3-4 different overdrive pedals. Dumble seemed to wack off part of the upper frequincies and bottom end, and the clone even more so, to the point of sounding thin and lifelss compared to the stock amp. If I choose any of the three for my personal amp, it would be an easy choice. The stock fender. Great sounding amp! Here is a zoom clip of the stock amp with a Mad Professor blue drive (or something like that) in front. It was a looper, so the sound quality is not very good, but its all I have. It sounded really good in the room. Nice OD pedal but VERY sensitive to settings. Just may want to watch gutting a nice old fender for an amp that IMO does not sound nearly as good. Give one a try first if at all possible! YMMV IMO etc etc..

I think what Tag is stating is that his ears have more of a bond with orig fender tone's , That's what he identifies with
While the other two amps UP & the inspired showman have more push and are not sounding to his ears as Smooth
We all have our likes and dislikes
Being able to hang out with any of them for a while might change anyone's perspective
I know this first hand

This is partially due to the fact that Dumble modded a Fender into more like a Marshall

No I don't agree , He would take the original design of the amp he was working on and would improve the amp's attribute's of it

Brad your saying that he didn't change the design/topology of the Showman at all..So he did what then?..Upgraded the parts...
Not trying to be a smart ass..Just a little confused.. :?
