Special tips for 80w ODS-HRM?

Post by AcePepper »

Hi,
I've done a couple of these things now, a 20w non-HRM, and a 50w HRM. Both came out great! Now I've been asked to do a 80w HRM. I'm thinkin' I'll use a TwinReverb PT and a DualShowman OT. Are these good choices for this design or is there something better suited, tranny-wise? Any changes needed in the power supply? Any other special tips for a 4x6L6 80w version?
Thanx!

Howdy Ace-
The TwinReverb PT is more than enough for this design; the clone chassis
I've seen all fit the TR Power tranny.
For an OT, I'd want more flexibility than just the 4 ohm secondary of
the TR/DSR OT... Maybe get Heyboer to build you a TR spec'd OT with
multiple secondary taps.
As an aside, I've seen your work for ThunderTweaks and have been
impressed but I'm sure some here are curious as to wether you are
gathering this info as a hobbyist or for commercial venture...
