The Brown Note crew came up with dimensions for a small, compact 1x12 combo and I built it this weekend. Norm finished a chassis build this weekend as well, so I installed it tonight. The cab is 18-3/4" square, 10" deep. It has an Eminence RWB in it and sounds mighty fine!!! I'll see if I can get some clips up tomorrow.

Adlib, got any pics of the back of the amp. I'm looking for cabinet ideas for my d'lite. I want to have a 1X12 made.

Hi Allyn, I was just finishing the panels for the back. this cab is only a prototype and will most likely be goingto the NAMM show, so I was too pressed for time to make an oval open back. But it sounds good. FIG from TGP, will hopefully post a clip or two using this amp tomorrow.Allynmey wrote:Adlib, got any pics of the back of the amp. I'm looking for cabinet ideas for my d'lite. Hi Allyn,
Though the cab is compact, it needs some tweaking. It loses bottom and couldn’t get the great tone we’re getting from the other cabs. Here’s a shot of all the amps we took to NAMM. The four on the right side are D'Lites.

If you sell amps with Vox grille cloth, expect a threatening nastygram from Vox.
Myself and others have already had them.
Regardless of whether you think it is right or not, it's not worth arguing unless you have a huge financial reserve and a great lawyer.
Personally I don't agree with Vox on this as this grille cloth has appeared on many items over the years, but they argue it's an integral part of their 'product recognition'.
No doubt if someone had the resources to take them on, this fight may have a more favourable outcome. However for myself and others, it's easier to take the low road and just use something else.
I never saw this piece at NAMM, but if it did get there, you can bet your bottom dollar Vox will contact you soon.
Alan.

Thanks Alan. This amp was shown privately at the Sheraton, which is why you didn't see it. But you are right about the Vox jerks. We haven't heard from them yet, but I think I will make another grill for the cab, just to avoid any issues.

The grill cloth thing just torks me off to no end!! Of course if the end buyer installs the grill cloth, I don't think Korg has any grounds to go after them.
But at $85/yd for the brown VOX grill cloth who needs it anyway.
