New Member/Dumble build
Hi
New member Here.. my names Rob i'm in Arizona
Looking into having someone me build Dumble clone for me but want to be able
To express some knowledge before going down this road. i have built some Marshall
jtm 45 and went through all the research on those .
i owned a Dumble over drive special from the mid 80,s..
Right now i have Taylor's head box and 2/12 cab as well as CE pedals
Dumble chassis. So looking for advice on any info before i make my
choices. i'm a firm believer in the transformers being a hugh part of the tone
and feel as well as the filtering, I also want to go full hand-wired..
i know my dumble had fender transformers in it so just looking into what your guys experience's are. love the Robben ford talk to your daughter tone but would also want more gain on tap with a great jangly type clean.. not sterol. my Dumble was sterol to me tried
all the nos tubes and tons of different speakers
it was built for a slide guitar player here in town 50 watt head so i think that was some of
its traits tone wise.
i'm using 335/355 and have custom shop Robben ford guitars. low and high powered
tweed twins. Lots of marshall plexis divided by 13 ft37 Black face fenders ext...
So part wise what do you like for these clones also trying to stay cosmetically as close as
possible inside and out. if possible
Transformers ?
Boards?
filter caps?
Resistors?
Builders?
Thanks In advance for all your Help

What serial number was the ODS that you owned previously? Do you have any pics from when you owned the amp? Any infor would be very much appreciated.
You have asked some VERY open ended questions. Ones for which you will get many different answers/opinions. I would suggest using the search function and searching the Dumble forum. ALL the information you are asking for is already in there. Then return and ask more specific questions.

Welcome onboard, you sound like a log of amp experience.
All the Info you are asking for is all available to you. Just use the search bottom.
If you want Robben Ford sounds, take a look at #102 in the files section, shoild get you started.

As a builder, I can help if you want something cosmetically close, as well as tonally... and I have worked with Dumble owners before.

Re: New Member/Dumble build
So are you after a Robben Ford like tone from the amp?
#102
Even if you were to build it yourself, it will be close to a grand. (lots of parts)
If you want a very close amp to the original, Jelle is your man.
