importance of the V -2 tube in a d-clone

Just trying to learn something here I know v3 is the phase inverter tube but what's the relation between v1 and v2 I know I know pretty dumb question :oops:

For your typical ODS, v2 is the overdrive tube.

Yes, V1 is the clean channel then the gain stages of V2 are cascaded for overdrive.
