Dumblator built in to EF86 Special or D-lite

Post by chopstuck »

I have built both an EF86 special (Sweet amp thank's Mat!) and a D-lite from the Normster's "20%" schematic IIRC.

I had heard about the smoothing effect of the tube d-lator and was wondering if it would be a worthy addition to a new build where I have room.

I also had been thinking of adding a one tube reverb to my existing D-lite and wondered if it also has that "smoothing" effect on the OD tone ?

They are both great amps but I think the pentode sounds a bit "smoother" to me. Would like smoother still.
Would the d-lator improve the pentode tone as well, could that circuit be grafted on the EF 86 specials passive loop?

Thanks Gents
Heavens, an unused PI input !
