I like my 124 a lot, will tweak the overdrive a bit later maybe, but it's already so much better than other Dumble ODS-like amps I've played. Anyway, the only thing I don't like is the PAB. For one, there's too much of it and it brightens up the amp, whereas I would like it more tweedish.
What tweaks can you give me to tame the volume jump and to get the tone in PAB where I want it?
thanks!

Hi, Yeah, I saw those threads, but none go into revoicing the PAB to be more tweedish. And as for the volume jump, there are several ideas about how to change that. From lowering the 22M anti-pop resistor on the PAB relay to changing tone controls.ToneMerc wrote:Lot's of info found using the search tool

I'd like to leave my clean as is, because it's great!
Re: Help me make my #124 PAB sound more tweedish?
You could try this, as quoted by Bill at Sabego....."The Rock mode is sort of a half stack bypass, lifts the mid pot with a 220K and lifts the bass pot with a 100K. I wound up just sticking a couple of 250K pots in there and tweaked them until I got a boost that I liked without a lot of EQ (mid) shift. I find it much more useful on the cleans than full PAB,"

Hmm as far as I know the Rock mode does not add any resistors to the stack.
It just connects the CW lug of the bass pot to the CCW lug of the treble pot.
Unless Bill is wiring his Rock/ Jazz switch differently from the Dumble way.
When in Jazz mode a 100K and .005uf cap is then connected between bass pot and treble pot. With the .005 to ground.
Which cuts the gain and tone.
Joost, you can use lower resistors instead of the 22M.
Some use 4M7 there.

I assume you mean the 22M on the PAB relay board?

Just wire the boost relay to either break the mid cap (on the board) to middle control path or lift the middle potentiometer off of ground. engage midboost at the same time - should sound pretty much like a Tweed.
