Doing a Bassman 100 To ODS clean

Post by boldaslove6789 »

Started a Bassman 100 to "classic era" (normal channel) & "bluesmaster" (bass channel) with tube loop into a BM pwr amp. No OD. Just waiting for parts.

Anbody done one of these or something similar?

Finished the head cab up today and I'm waiting for the faceplate from kinko's, started modding today. Mocked the faceplate up.

Each channel (Bluesmaster and Skyliner) will have Push/pulls for Mid Boost and Preamp Boost. I though about getting rid of the second Input and just putting a Relay to switch either or since the Bluesmaster breaks up more but decided against it as I can just use an A/B switch instead.

Just curious...is Phoenix intentionally misspelled?

Was it your intent to spell Phoenix wrong on your faceplate?

I did some more mods 2day, Removed the Negative Feedback loop in the PI as well as some other bit's to use a 12ax7 instead of the 12at7.

Replaced filter caps etc., oriented channel 1 to "Classic" spec's until I get some parts in to change "Channel 2" to Bluesmaster spec's with the Mega Boost PAB.

Tomorrow I'll start the Buffered loop (Thanks TOM "Structo"). The loop will be put on a daughter board with eyelets on 3/8 standoffs.

One thing I wasn't sure about was where to put the Master Vol. My thought was to put it before the Loop and I was going to put a Loop Bypass switch, how could I do it so that the I could get the D-lator's Level control as the Master? Should I put the amps Master on a Trim pot inside the chassis?

I'll post some pics of the innards in a bit.

I would still install the Master volume, before the loop.

Using the preamp volume and master gives you the character of the amp.

For some reason I thought you were just building a power amp in this amp to use with your rack mount preamps.
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

Tom,

Nah just a big fat clean Machine w/ Loop.

So here's the first run with a faceplate (messed up so I have to get another made), I guess with these fender chassis the control marker's have to be on the bottom to be seen. I have to figure out a way to get some markers on there for the Push/Pull Pot's

I still got a LOT of work to do but here's some shot's of the innards (Sorry for the fuzzy pics):

The Wax they put on the main board is a pain in the A$$. I didn't want to gut it out so I worked with what I had.
