These were just released by New Sensor Tung Sol KT-120..Drop in replacement for 6550/KT88 a whopping 60 watt plate dissipation..120w out of a pair...Think I'm in love

New Sensor now announces the Tung-Sol KT120, which has a plate dissipation of 60 watts, making it the most powerful tube in the 6550/KT88/KT90 family. A pair of these tubes in push-pull configuration can deliver power levels of 150 or more watts. When used at the parameters found in existing 6550/KT88/KT90 circuits, the Tung-Sol KT120 is impervious to overload, delivering peak power with extreme reliability and long tube life. However, taking advantage of the higher current handling capacity of these tubes, a very unique and super powerful and stable amp can be designed using the Tung-Sol KT-120."

So what would the ideal PT spec out at voltage wise, for P-P amp and a pair of these?
A friend wants me to build him a big powerful amp with mega clean and a switchable crunch. Maybe a low plate clean pre with a higher plate OD channel. He also wants a built in effects set up, (maybe a TC or Lex unit installed in the same head cab through an internal loop) with multi FX capability.
The KT 120 sounds like the animal to use!
What ya think?

We used the Orange ( partridge spec) 120`s @ M Mag building for Electric Amp..B+ 500vdc on plates.. 1K screens Ran it like a EL-34/6550 set-up.
Here's a little more info on these beasts from the latest Lord Valve catalog :
"REFLEKTOR/TUNG-SOL KT-120 (NEW!)
This is the meanest-ass power tube I've ever carried.
I ain't kidding! Massive plates, rated for 60 watts (!)
static plate dissipation. Rated for 850 VDC plate,
600 VDC screen in tetrode operation, a pair of these
in a circuit designed around them can produce over 150
watts RMS of output power. What this means is that they'll
take *stupid* amounts of abuse when used in circuits
designed for KT-88s or 6550s, and shrug off overloads
that would destroy lesser tubes. They'll also increase
output power in these applications, although not by a huge
amount. Note that the rated filament current for this
tube is 1.8 amps - twice that of a 6L6, so these aren't
drop-in for most 6L6 amps; the EL34 filament spec is
1.5A, the KT-66 and the 6550 are 1.6A, so the extra
current required for the KT-120 will probably not be a
problem in those cases. "
