Admittedly a pretty geekish observation but I don't remember seeing any of the dumble amps without the aluminum strip across the wood bar in the front.

I`d say its real thing, i see the alum strip, this is John and Martina Mcbride. http://martinamcbride.com/ I`m sure they can afford the real thing! Personally i DIG the tone, its a fresh departure from all the RF stuff, that everyone is regurgitating these days.
