Dogears and the RP?

Post by Mr Dumble »

Scott, did you do any clips with the Redplate I sent you? I would love to hear them if you did. :) That was a very cool amp. Slightly to rocked for my style, but a blast to play. I can see why so many guys are loving it. I would love to hear what it sounded like through your recording gear.

Scott,
Any clips with the RP yet? I would love to hear what that amp sounds like with you playing and your recording equipment! Do you still have the amp?

I had been really busy lately (hence no clips in a while). Unfortunately, Henry called and needed the amp back to send to England.

It indeed was fantastic. More so on the clean side for me. I really dug the tweed clean. Huge and nice!!

OD was great too, but I preferred the Ojai and 183 approximation for what I do and like. Although the cascading 6 stage tones were something unique that the other circuits do not do.

Maybe I can get clips in the future....

Bummer. Oh well. We pretty much agree on the Redplate. I found basically the same things. Great amp, but more on the rocking side compared to what I need for my style. Henry was fantastic to deal with, and is totally on the ball. Everything was done on time, and he did exactly what he said he was going to do. Great product from a great guy who has found a tone that is very unique. Not an easy thing to do! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a Dumble style amp with great flexability and a bit more agression. VERY cool amp! :)

I would have loved to hear some Scott clips with that amp. I would have pegged you two for BlackLoop or BlackVerb amps, having heard you play so many times in clips. I absolutely love my MDD because it does rock. Lends itself to my schlubby pentatonic rock/blues meanderings..............

but, for the clip curious - listen to some much less harmonically informed clams below(some with Heyboer some with Mercury Magnetics OT):

I missed this.

So Brad, you bought a Magic Dust Duo?

If I was to buy a Redplate that would probably be the one. :D

Clips?
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

I played three of Henry's amps, loved the MDD, but I ended up ordering the Basic Blackverb.

Like Scott and Tag said its a rocking machine with a great reverb circuit as well. So many options you can dial up a lot of great tones.

Scott, "cascading 6 stage tones". Is this 6 triode stages or three cascodes, or some combination thereof?
