Welagen ODS with PCBs

Post by jelle »

Hi all,

Jeremy/Germ (Lastwinj from the trainwreck section) and I have been working to get PBCs for my ODS builds. Jeremy really knows how to design these boards.

I wanted to share some pics with you as I really liked how it came out in the amp. 100w Skyline low plate with internal loop.

Jelle

 Pristine.
OK, tell me about the burled preamp board. Formica or other? Looks very sharp indeed!

Will you be making any of these boards available? In particular the PS and relay boards?
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Hi jelle,

That is a thing of beauty, thanks for sharing.

BTW, are your rectifier diodes something like UF5408? Pretty serious looking, whatever they are!

Cheers,

Paul.

Thanks! The diodes are FR307. I believe 500nS recovery.
Sorry, I won't be sharing these boards. In case you'd like to have boards drawn up, please contact Jeremy or maybe you are handy enough and have time enough to do it yourself. I might let go of some HRM and relay boards in the future.
The preampboard material comes from Ultrahookedonphonix, I believe. Has been a while. Yes, it is Formica. I'm doing two amps with this Formica, I got material for two amps, and the other one will be a 183 version. I even got the NOS OT for that amp. I've been working on that one for a number of months now. Just so little time at the moment.

I completely understand. Do keep us in mind if you decide to sell a few relay boards.

Really top notch stuff Jelle! Your amps always look so thoughtfully laid out.
Where the TR products still resemble a hastily lashed together science project.

I've built a Wah Wah and some Fuzz pedal circuits on the 2" X 3" Formica
samples you get from Home Depot. That stuff looks cool as circuit boards.

Is that Germ from the band Built To Spill?
Thank you for sharing these photos,

Very Nice looking amp, great quality. Could you let me know what type on screen cable you use?

 Ultra, the sheer beauty of your builds are an inspiration. Thanks for that.

The iron....I've always used custom iron for my 100W ODS amps. The chassis and the boards too. It was quite some work.

The shielded cable is something I got off ebay about one or two years ago. Blindly bought it and I got lucky after trying about 15 types of teflon wire. I do not know what type it is. I have used cable that came with my VCR as well.

Germ...I do not know if he plays in a band. He's a member here, but not very active at the moment.

My amps in the Netherlands...maybe. I can set them up for Japanese, US and Euro voltages, 100 to 240V. Shoot me an email. :D Apparently one of my amps was on Barend en van Dorp.
