Robben Ford is human :-)...and makis a clamp at 0:46

Post by bluesfendermanblues »

Hi guys,

In spite of the fact that many of us forumites tend to search for the sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet tones of Robben Ford, its healthy to remeber that he's human too and can have an off day, you know?

Check it out at 0:46

love his tone by the way.

Somebody asked in the comments section why Robben removes the truss rod cover on his guitars.
I had never noticed that before but sure enough, just about every guitar he plays is missing the cover.

Anybody know why?

Daved, and Robben of course, likes it that way. If you are traveling a lot you usually have to adjust the truss rod quite often. Daved has mentioned this on the RF Forum.
I guess Robben is not too picky about what the guitar looks like.

It's not like "Daved, I won't go onstage without my trussrod cover"

It looks like he wasn't too pleased about the little minor boo boo, and doesn't shake it off until about mid song. The playing is stellar, his face just looks tense during the first half of the song.

There is a clip out there of RF playing a festival in Portland where you can definitely see that he is upset over a minor little gaff. Similar deal, plays his can off during the rest of the song, but his face tells the story.

Daved is no longer his tech.
Rick is, so that is why I was wondering about why the TRC were still off.
I wonder if they have become lost after all these years.

Nice too see he is human, I also think he did not like the note 1:30..... he looks off and then back to the guitar.

Geez- Which one of us is perfect? I can't find the fine print that says RF is anywhere on the Interweb.
Does your mother know you talk that way??

I agree fully with your point of view, Robben Ford never claimed to be perfect.

My point being that I (and other forumites) tend to to put RF and his famous tan Dumble up on a pidestal, consequently its healthy to remember that RF is human too and can have an off day.

So Robben Ford is not the guilty one, I am

What if he did it deliberately, so that we'd think he was human.

Have a great day!

Cheers,

Paul.
