2 Dilators in one rack?

Post by 67plexi »

I would like to run 2 D style amps with one reverb and one delay.
So the unit can set input and output levels in stereo on amp 1 and amp 2.
I never run only one amp something Dave Haskell showed me years ago.
Any help and direction would be much appreciated.
Or will I have to run 2 units.

Thank you, Steve.

You need the Dumblator II.

It has one input and two loops.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

FWIW,

The send bright cap can be scaled up. To get the same results with the 10KA pot as the 250KA, use a 0.022uf cap.

Works find and give exactly the same boost break point as the d-lator one cap.

I normally use 500pf across the 220K in the returns.

The GW matchbox is very similar.

Ha!
I didn't even notice it had parts without values, I never really studied the schematic, just had it in my files.

BTW,

The return pots are standard 250KA with appropriate bright caps.

The reason Alexander changed the send circuit was the lower the output impedance to minimize signal loss. It does effect tone, so let your own ears decide if the .47uf -> 250KA or 1uf->10KA sounds better.

As far as I understood what you are up to (not 100% sure about this, please check), this is not possible with a Dumbleletor II.

A Dumblelator II (at least those I know) has only one input and one send output and only one drive control. They are suited for any setup in which you take the signal out of one preamp, then into the single input of the Dumblelator II, then from the signal send output of the Dumblelator II into the single input of a stereo outboard effect and then with the stereo signal of this stereo effect back into the two return inputs of the Dumblelator II and then from the two outputs of the Dumblelator II into two different power amps for each of both stereo channels of the stereo effect.

Thank you Tom & Gary, I see a Dumblator II in my near future.
Take care, Steve :D

Max, I see your point looks like I will need 2 units to get the job done.
Thank you Max, Steve.

Gary - do you have the bright cap engaged normally with your loop? Curious because I find the clean channel a bit dark without a bright cap on my d-lator.

I don't but I do have the amp clean volume bright cap on when ever the clean channel is on then it automatically turns off if I switch to OD.
Works pretty slick.
