Funk's Boards - nonHRM ODS

Post by gar13 »

Hi all,

I've finally gotten around to starting my 100 watt ODS. I have a set of board's I bought from Funkaliciousgroove 2-3 years ago and the recently run Odourboy chassis. Man am I excited. Got the turrents and eyelets pressed and the power supply soldered up today.

I am a little confused as to the layout funk used. In the attached picture, what is connect to the eyelet I have circled in Red on the underside of the board?

Does it connect to other eyeltes, or is it just a tie point for something?

Dave

This layout for #124 (first attachment to the first post) shows one interpretation of the use of that eyelet:

OTOH, Nik used it a little differently in the Ceriatone layout:

To be honest, i don't know which, if either, is the way HAD used it.

There have been a number of posts relating to this issue, and the way Tony has shown it on the #124 layout is correct and endorsed by the AG gurus IIRC. The eyelet serves as a tie point for what would be a pretty long run of unsupported wire from MV to preamp access return. In the Ceriatone layout, it ties grounds together that other eyelets can do perfectly well.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Paul.

I'm continuing with the build, having lots of fun with this one.

Does anyone have a Mouse part number for the ground lugs used in their build? Is it one on the bottom on the page in the link?

Also, I have two output transformers I could use for this build. A schumacher twin clone with multiple output impedances (It was salvaged from a Carvin) or a Hammond 1650T (this one is a brute). Any comments/suggestions/critisms on OT choice? I really don't have the cash to spring for an MM or even and Magnetics comp right now.

Those will work fine. I prefer the D or G style ones myself.

I would go with the Schumacher Twin., if you're using 6L6GCs. The Hammond is unnecesarily large, unless you are a pedal steel guy using KT88s!

Thanx for the responses guys. I was wrong about the OT. I actually have a 1650R. I assume the answer would be the same though....
