V1 series/parallel

Anyone tried V1a-V1b in parallel ? Any pros/cons ?

I tried it with my MiniHRM build and when parallel the signal is lower but quite nice sounds in there.

What improvements could be done to the wiring on the picture ? I would like to explore the parallel mode more.
