completed 100 k amp
hey guys
just thought I would share a few photos of my 100 k amp that I finished on christmas eve .
she fired right up with no fireworks thankfully, pretty standard low plate skyline 100k od trimpot ,precision power supply ,twin iron from magnetic componets and the chassis from the recent chassis run{sweet chassis by the way]
the only thing was there was a slight grounding hum that went away when I turned on the bright swicth that appears to have been alleviated by removing the ground from the input jack ,but i'll believe it was that easy in a few days
voltges appear to be in spec 180's on v1 190 on v2 290's on the PI and 438 on PT plates I dont think I am going to do a thing to her for awhile until she has had some time to settle in but she sounds good already !
that's my story
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
here is a few more build photos

Nice job. I wish some one would offer a set of boards for that chassis.

Nice looking building, clean.
+1 to supplier for boards. I have etched my own PCBs and ordered the eyelet from Nik.

Easy way to do multiple quotes is right click on the "Quote" icon and select "open in new window". Then go to the next one and do that again. Now you can cut and paste between the 2 windows.bigmik wrote:thanks stelligan, who needs santa when you got a soldering ironstelligan wrote:Looks mighty fine! Beautiful work - why buy new when you can build it (hopefully for less).

Beautiful build!
Is that Teflon wiring?
I notice you didn't include the 220K/250pf network on the Send/ Return jacks?
Have you tried that and not liked it?
I'm getting ready to build a Dumbleator and was concerned about that.

^That filter was unique to #124 it seems.

Very nice workmanship!!
Etching boards can be fun!. I have a RAT tube tester that I layed out, need to get it transferred and etched this week. Nothing like the smell of hot ferric chloride in the morning.

Really?ChrisM wrote:^That filter was unique to #124 it seems.
I did not know that.
I do see on a couple other schematics (#123) that there is sometimes a 100K in series with the Send jack.
Between the Master wiper and the jack.
On the early 80's Grail schematic is has the 220K/250pf on the jacks but appears to be incorrectly drawn if it is supposed to be like #124.
ODS 101 has a 220K in series.
Here is the picture of #124.
Notice how the brown wire from the Master goes to the shunt lug on the Return jack?
