Very nice! How did you get the Norbury Brook name on, and the Dumble name off, for that matter?

there was no Dumble name on, it's one of Taylors AN chassis.martin manning wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 4:27 pm Very nice! How did you get the Norbury Brook name on, and the Dumble name off, for that matter?
I had the 'Norbury Brook' transfers made a while ago, I've got one on a telecaster and a ribbon mic I made.
I got the same company to make me a set of transfers with 'Overdrive Special By' they arrived in line so I just cut them all out and applied them a word at a time.
before after
I thought the gold script worked well as there's a series of ODS amps with the gold script Dumble

Looks great! What type of transfer, and what process was used to make them?

Martin, the closest thing I can think of is letraset. It's a dry transfer that is rubbed on then the holding top layer is peeled away leaving the letting on the surface.martin manning wrote:Looks great! What type of transfer, and what process was used to make them?
If anyone is interested the ODS Dumble font is: Gillies Gothic

Any claim regarding durability? Dry transfer lettering is easily scratched off, as I recall.

Yes, however in reality in that position it's never ever going to get any wear. If you were worried then I would imagine you could apply the decals and spray a clear coat over it before assembly.martin manning wrote:Any claim regarding durability? I can't see how in that position it will get any significant wear.
In a commercial process then one would have it screen printed.
This was my maverick way of adding graphics [emoji3]

It looks great, just wondering if perhaps you'd discovered something new. If you are careful with it, I'm sure it will hold up fine.

They're actually quite thick, you can feel the letters of you rub your fingers over them so they should wear fairy well.martin manning wrote:It looks great, just wondering if perhaps you'd discovered something new. If you are careful with it, I'm sure it will hold up fine.
The microphone will be the test as that's handled constantly.
I'm just debating if I should make a matching cab? Something different would be nice.
Perhaps a sealed ported 2x10?
Could it take 100w?....3x10 [emoji3]

Looks great Marcus. The logo is the finishing touch!
Is it as satisfiying as your previous BM built?

With sum of speaker power 150W or more, yes. Fewer high-power options than 12", but still some interesting choices in 50-75W per driver range. A single 15" would be another different interesting direction to look.norburybrook wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 10:42 pm I'm just debating if I should make a matching cab? A 4x10" would be super.

My friend has just fried an EVM12 L in the Larry carlton sealed/ported cab with my first BM!!! he did used to dime it though.didit wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 12:11 pmWith sum of speaker power 150W or more, yes. I have a lovely marshall 4x10 with celestions but no way would they handle the BM if it got loud.
1 x 15 is an interesting thought, like SRV's Vibro verb. hmm that could be interesting.
what sort of cab you put a 1x15 in? I could make a sort of slightly taller oval backed Dumble type cab, that would be cool. I bet it wouldn't need to be that much bigger really than the 1x12 baffle.

Yes, an open-back based on Dumble's oval design. Might consider adding depth rather than height. Or maybe both, by just a few inches?
I got one of these a few years ago after seeing some positive feedback - EPS-15C. However, so far only put to limited tests what with many other projects and nearly no free time. Tentative blush, met my expectations (from the marketing) as full-voice with "pedal steel" chime, clarity & force. Eminence now have a few more newer designs similar.

I was just looking at that speaker. It is however the equivalent of $400 here!! £279 to be exact which is very expensive!!didit wrote:Yes, an open-back based on Dumble's oval design. Might consider adding depth rather than height. Or maybe both, by just a few inches?

Seems bit steep. Recall paying ~CND$270, perhaps after a small discount. However, a good pint here is ~CND$6 and the same was £6 w. modest tip in March when I was last in London. Perhaps there's means/method to purchase with US$ and have it then transported affordably?
Any pricing for a WheelHouse 200? It's too new to have been widely reviewed. Looks potentially interesting, though assumption from description certainly quite different.

Re: 100w Bluesmaster HRM new build
Back from tour and I've done the revision to the footswitch to stop OD and FET. However it seems I've got my OD on off all to cock again.
It's possible how the old footswitch was wired just happened to make it work and I hadn't checked it without the FS in place.
here's where I'm at.
The amp with NO footswitch in has the OD on when in 'pedal' position switch on the back and off when in manual.
First of all then. What do I swap around so the OD is off in 'pedal'
then I can take a look at the footswitch.
