Thanks for the offer. Last night my long shaft 2k had an appointment with the hack saw...
I also cut the bias pot short and slotted it with the hack saw.
Love the hacksaw...almost as much as the Sawzall...
Build looks great so far!

I use one of these to trim long shafts to size.

I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,

Are you going to want to install bear claw tube retainers before you get further along?

Actually the bear claws are on the way with the 9 pin sockets and a set of JJ tubes from Antique Radio Supply. Putting the bear claws in will be easy because I used PEM nuts on the chassis.

I got the AC/Standby/Ground switches. Wow, it is a close fit.

How close?
Remember this is ac voltage which can arc. Heat shrink might be in order given you are talking about a dangerous part of the circuit.

Actually it is the switch bodies that are close. I laid out the holes based on my scaled drawing which is based on the picture. The switch bodies almost touch but I think it will be OK.

That middle switch is scary. You may need an insulated connector or a few layers of heat shrink.

Yes that switch is going to get reworked. It is supposed to have just two solder eyelets, instead of 4 spade connectors.

Keep plodding Ice you're doing great work, I can't wait for the You Tube clips, you'll have to do a side by side comparison with a Bassman, a reissue will do.

Why not use a switch like a Carling, like the one on the left?
Tom
Don't let that smoke out!
