Is this what you have in mind. Note the treble and bass controls on the left, one for each side, on this Marantz preamp.

That's an Overdrive Special that was reworked by a company in Florida. It has a new faceplate and reworked internals. I forget the guys name. It's a nice looking job, although I wonder what it did to the collector value of the amp.

Looks a little like "Two-Rock meets Glaswerks"

I believe that's www.vintone.com who did the rebuild.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Hi.
I wrote down all the parts from the CR Sig schematic from this thread.
But Im really not good with electronics so I dont understand what type of resistors caps etc too use. It dosent say in the schematic what kind of wattage it is on the resistors and what kind of switches I must use and pots etc. I know it is a VERY big thing to ask but I made a file with all the parts. Maybe someone can help me out with the different resistors and caps etc.

I know it isnt too easy but I can pay for the help. Really want to have this amp build for me. Thaught I collected all the parts and then give it to my amp tech. Cheaper that way.

Thank you very much. This forum is a killer.

Hi blueserik,

That's an awfully big question to ask and one that has taken up a large number of the posts on this forum, if you consider that the CR Sig schematic is basically a 100K D'clone with relatively few variations. Use the search function to find bill of materials (or BOM for short) in the files section.

This may be a start:

https://tubeamparchive.com/files/ods_102_hrm_536.pdf

The above BOM relates to an HRM build but it does link you to the supplier of each component. Study the schematics of the different variations of the ODS and you'll be able to look for the appropriate value of component that relates to the build you desire.

Cheers, Paul.

Not exactly. The NFB loops are clearly D*mble inspired, but what I meant was the effects loop isn't really a loop. It has a send (off the master wiper) and a return amp. No cathode follower to match impedance and so forth. It's not really a loop (as we know it). I've heard rumors that Bill Krinnard "doesn't like cathode followers". Trying to drive a solid state effect without a low input impedance would be clearly a recipe for a sucky tone IMHO.[/quote]

I just modified a 2R sig for a friend. Amazing that they literally copied an old D ods circuit down to the last component value, and then butchered the tone
with the crude noisy efx loop and verb routing that was in there. Once that stuff was out , it came to life. It was retrievable, and became a great sounding amp w/a couple tweaks.

I understod that it was a big thing to ask for. But I threw my self out there. It was worth a shot.

Thanks for all the help. I think I must take one step back and just read and read and read.

This tone is amazing... Taylor did a fantastic job what are you using for the overdrive?? I know the amp has a master vol..?? Some kind of a boost or pedal?? I mean I understand the normal ODS style Dumbles with the extra gain stage. This looks different for sure? https://youtu.be/RnA0cHdkyHc

Everything seems to be borrowed from someone or something else doesn't it? Marantz very cool switching concept... Interesting Andy
