Thanks, I will rewire the power supply board, and get better bolts
although it is not loose the bolt on one side is very tight and there is no play.
i do realize being 48 things can loosen up with age ;). If anyone notices anything else let me know. I am very grateful for suggestions!

The lead dress may look sloppy especially the filament wires which one day I may clean up . On the other hand the amp is completely quiet at full volume with no hum, no static, no pops. There are no cold joints. No parasitic circuits. No oscillations no radio noise. every wire was lightly manipulated with the amp on and there is no noise or
loss of signal when you wiggle the wires. The under sides of the boards were
carefully inspected to insure there is good clearance of all connections from the chassis. Every connection in addition to a solder connection has a physical connection with a hook through the eyelet.

Most important the amp sounds stunning!! I am hesitant to change anything other than make the power supply board safer(great suggestion). I appreciate all the suggestions!! Keep them coming.

Also I am very surprised it works as the only other electronic device I have ever built is a mojotone kit of a fender twin which compared to what it took to build this including sourcing all the parts, modifying the chassis and boards, building it as a mirror image unknowingly of the significance I purchased a tubes up version chassis. My next build I will definitely have learned from my mistakes on this build and make it much tidier.
I am thinking next build either a train wreck or 18 watt marshall any suggestions ?

Well I'm glad the amp is working, a reverse pattern ODS is hard to build and not the first choice for people new to the sport :)

I strongly advise to shorten the leads from the tone board to the tube pins. Working one wire at a time I don't know how a person could screw that up so your amp will work when done. Also, rework the filament wires having them above the tube sockets.

Thanks over the next few week I will clean up the wires.
Just finished redoing the power board, Thanks Horacio! Moved the leads to the front as suggested.

Here is a question:

The bright switch seems so subtle almost imperceptible? Is this correct?
I changed out the capacitor to make sure it was right and also checked the connections ?

Echo, the cap on the bright switch is there to bleed high frequencies when the control is at a low position, hight resistance impedes the high frequencies to pass through. Therefore, when you rotate the control higher there is less resistance, high frequencies pass more freely and you can hardly notice any difference when the switch is on or off. You can try a higher value cap and experiment, but wait after you have played the amp at least 50 hours before you start making any (tone related) changes.

Have a good weekend.

Hmmm, I am wondering if that cab was built by a very nice guy up in Massachusetts that lives and works at a place where you keep your computer Taylor, eh? :D

Cheers!

That was quite the riddle...but yeah I know who built that cab. It was back during a happy time when we were free to go outside without jackets and the outside wasn't white

Maybe I am missing something here, but to build a tube-up ODS all one would need to do is have new faceplate and back plate and rotate the knobs on the shaft 180 degrees.

Not if you want the inputs and controls to wind up in the same left-right order. To do that it needs to be a mirror-image layout as seen from the open side of the chassis.

I built the cab a mirror image too. Extremely difficult.

I love the cabinet!!!

the clean professional look on the outside makes up for my wire dress on the inside ;)

Echo, I found a rather very nicely done ODS 102 just finished by Aaron (aflynt).

I think both of us have work to do! My ODS is not as neat as Aaron's either.

All the best.

None of us has heard this amp, but if it sounds really good then the notion that the lead dress in a D-type amp has to be just so is under attack. Can you really get good tone out of an amp even if looks like it should be sitting over a can of Sterno at an Italian wedding? Maybe if you try to clean it up all the mojo will escape and it will sound thin and lifeless. What to do?

But seriously, good to hear you've got it working!

That is a very nice build by Afynt, but I've seen some pictures of original Dumbles and some are not all perfectly neat and tidy. To me it all comes down to how the thing sounds, as long as it's SAFE and fairly organized.
