I'm more than humble enough to be able to take a jab when there's some ligitimacy to it, but first I think you need to go back and figure out what you actually read. All my inputs are just fine. The irony you perceived is unfounded. But it takes a level of delicate discernment to distiguish the difference.

All I can hope for is that it is true and you're just a very immature kid, and not an adult. I actually tried to see something positive in your efforts, but now I'm afraid I just wasted some good will.

I'm just waiting for you to tell me which of my high impedance lines are crossed with my low impedance lines.

I know it looks funny. I'm not blind. I'm glad you can see too.

Honestly, that clip reminded me of a Randall solid state amp that I used to play back in 1978.
man if you ever had to play an amp that sounds like a laptop mic getting overloaded I feel bad for you.

I feel bad for you too, if you think that amp sounds like something close to a Dumble. Have fun.
which ones have you played?

I reckon I'm safe putting the fire extinguishers away?

Diagrammatiks,

I gotta say that this thread brings back a lot of good memories. When I was a kid in the 70's my buddy and I were into Ham radio. We would ride our bikes and pick old up old tube radios etc for parts and fun that people were getting rid of for newer SS stuff.

Does this build conform to the dumble norm? No, but it is a proven technique and I have seen a hell of a lot worse from production stuff built a long time ago - and with 2 prong cords!

Good luck, I hope all of your efforts pay off.

Thanks man. I've got pieces of hammond organs from around that time period that are just mind-blowingly complex. Yet, not a hair out of place after all this time.

I saw your other post on film caps, I was going to say in response to CHIP that the preamp is pretty standard dumble based on the schematics in the file section but the power supply isn't at all. I definitely prefer film caps in the power supply though. Just need to go back after I'm done and compensate for the brightness.

Hey diagramattiks
Found this thread while surfing and was wondering if any of these pics you posted were other builds you have completed?

Nope just reference photos. I've got a bunch bookmarked to see how other people did tricky stuff. The first one is the one that chris posted earlier in the thread.

I hate wires. It might be pathological.
