Pretty sweet huh? Thanks Pinner.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the SSS was supposed to be a loud, clean machine. Did Lindley eventually abandon the on board overdrive in favour of pedal driven overdrive? The Lindley tone I'm thinking of is not exactly what I would call clean.
Still, that's a pretty cool amp!

I'm pretty sure it's the one in the middle on the photo's in the "blave" folder, but it doesn't have it's own folder.
Yes, and don't overlook the rare "starve" switch. Very few of these first generation amps had the "starve" switch.

Have fun!

No. He used a Dumble modddedd (kind of Salma inspired hotttroddded?) Bassman, his ODS, and his SSS. After Dumble did the SSS mod to his ODS he stopped using the rodded Bassman.

Max, are you talking about Rob Livesey's site?
Yes, "blave" - as far as I remember now.

I love this thread, frankly the whole carlton/ford thing doesn't float my boat. I'm not what you would call a light touch player, we don't need no stinking smooth Jazz...no offense to those who like that kind of stuff, just ain't my cup of tea.
Check out Kirk Hammett wielding his SSS (Metallica "St. Anger")

Play loud!

If you utilize the FET input you can get a nice Gritty raw Drive out of the SSS-
