Re: Check this out......
I have many more pictures coming. I just have to transfer from my phone to my laptop.
Whoever wants to build me a clone of this amp is welcome!! It sounds awesome!! I will try to upload a video of how it sounds. the problem is that I will use my phone so no great sound quality but anyway it will be a reference.

I'm a trainwreck guy!! I have no clue of Dumble terms but, plate voltage is 460vdc.

Re: Check this out......
I have pictures of one that has a blue PCB, if I can find it I will post it, I have never seen one in this tube configuration, I will have to stare at the pictures a while to see what he gained from the layout.Aaron wrote:Thanks Redshark![]()
Very interesting layout. The question is, why did HAD decide to do a completely different layout and circuit board for this amp?
And, how many more PCB amps are there?
Thanks again,
Aaron

Ok, am I blind? where are the relay boards?FuzzFaceBuilder wrote:Dang! I've always wondered the chassis layout for PCB ODS amps. Between this and the Rick Vito ODSR we've got two great examples! Thanks again Redshark!

Looks like there's a relay in the corner of V2 PCB.glasman wrote:Ok, am I blind? where are the relay boards?FuzzFaceBuilder wrote:Dang! I've always wondered the chassis layout for PCB ODS amps. Between this and the Rick Vito ODSR we've got two great examples! Thanks again Redshark!

Right next to something that looks like a trimmer. That is siliconed. Probably Howard tuned it to Hoyt's liking and glued it. I have to start studying this amps. I have been here since 2009 dedicated to trainwrecks. I rarely read about Dumbles.
Re: Check this out......
Is that the blue suede head? That had a different PCB layout again.glasman wrote:I have pictures of one that has a blue PCB, if I can find it I will post it, I have never seen one in this tube configuration, I will have to stare at the pictures a while to see what he gained from the layout.Aaron wrote:Thanks Redshark![]()

That is one of my favourite looking amps, blue suede with vox cloth.

Re: Check this out......
Hers an idea if you get chance,
Solder a white LED on long leads, power it from a 9v battery through a 2.2k resistor.
Place the led under the pcb and turn the light s down, you can now see the traces under the pcd if you can get a good picture of these we can see the traces and draw up the schematic
I do this some times on pcb amps when fault finding with now schematic

Re: Check this out......
I wonder if this method was an attempt to make the amp into modules to ease production and reduce construction time?

Yeah I spotted that after I posted the comment. I don't see a PAB really, maybe he dumped it from the design.FuzzFaceBuilder wrote:Looks like there's a relay in the corner of V2 PCB.glasman wrote:Ok, am I blind? where are the relay boards?FuzzFaceBuilder wrote:Dang! It looks like a straight build of his standard board onto a PCB.
