Steve, I guess I was the one who recommended the Mercury Magnetics. Sorry about your experience with that. If you didn't clip the leads you can send them back. I used a Magnetic Components transformer before the Mercury and it failed. Thinking back, I may have chose to lower the B+ to soften the high end a little. I bet your #1 sounds as good or better than the original so don't settle for anything less.

Thank you Charlie #1 is the amp period. I used a Heyboer PT on the first build. I'm going to run them in stereo at practice today.
Check out the Fender section 5G12 Concert "AMP" that amp sounds
smooth as silk due to the Tweed Bassman #45249 OPT 5/1960
So #1 and the Concert amp when restored will be my gig rig.
Just playing #1 will take a year to remove the grin on my face
I'm happy #2 is a dud I know what direction to go with it you see I have
one more 1959 OPT 4/8 ohm taps. #2 will be a harmonic generator soon
And if it was that easy everyone would have one not so.

I played the #1 & #2 together they complement each other so I decided to fine tune the #2
With a GZ34 Voltage was to high so dropping string time B+2 to B+3 8k2 360VDC
B+3 to B+4 22k 310VDC. It did get rid of the harsh high end does is sing like #1 not at all
It has a nice chime clean tone that is useable. I get to play them live tonight see how they work together now.

I'm not sure how to gage the new amps. My sound man was smiling all night Keith has run sound for me 30 years and the spectrum analyzer was maxed out the only other amp that has had a screen shot close is my ODS version of Mega-plx . Great audience response made more in tips than both amps cost to build. Winning combination. They passed the 4 hour flame test dead silent no hum or hiss.
Last part the management. I asked them if I was too loud they said turn it up I had a great night.

This is the NOS 1959 OPT that is going in #2
What model not sure it's for x2 6V6 4/8 ohm taps.
606-947 and K-58459 All I know it was from a Fender warehouse
I got the last three two for me and one for Eric.
As far as PT #1 used a mojo756EX Tweed deluxe I suspect that the secondary's have been lowered no way is it a 384-0-384
I have 399 VDC from pin 8 on the GZ34.
The Mercury Magnetics PT 380-0-380 has 427 VDC off of pin 8 GZ34
that's to high for NOS 6V6 350 volts max. I ordered a 330-0-330
to replace the Mercury Magnetics PT. I did try to make it work pin 8 5Y3
20 watt 500R to the primary B+ MM OPT 338 VDC then B+1 to B+2 8k2
and B+2 to B+3 22k that got my voltages close still sounds marginal. Look at the tube data on the JJ/6V6-S

Mojo 756EX is listed at 330-0-330 at 75mA. MC has 40-18078, 330-0-330 at 100 mA, whereas their 5E3 clone is 355-0-355 at 100 mA, both with 120VAC on the primary. So, the clone running on 110VAC (1950's line voltage) would produce 330-0-330.

The second transformer is listed as a 756EXsp
No markings on the box or transformer I got it from TubeDepot

Well, this would not be the first time that Mojo's documentation has been found lacking. It will be very interesting to see if the lower voltage is the key.
