I believe the tan ones are carbon film.
The blue flame proof ones on the power supply are usually metal film or metal oxide.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he needs those 1K resistors in the pedal. I think they're already on the relay board. I couldn't make out the value bands on the resistors on the relay boards( couldn't mag the pic much more), but I suspect they are 1K as well. Anyways, just trying to eliminate any redundancies.

I think the ones one the relay board are for the LED's on that board.

Yep, that's right I forgot about the led on the board,I couldn't see the power board for the relays for certain. They may be there(power board for relay)as well, just check. Not a biggie either way  nice build and congrats!

Thanks, this is a killer sounding amp. I can't believe how good it does the Eric Johnson tone.

I don't run any current limiting resistors on my led's because I was afraid of dropping the voltage too much on the relays.
But then again, I think my led's are visible from the space station in orbit..

I've thought about adding some small ones but haven't gotten around to it.

leleduke,

Have you tried it with all three relays energised?

Do you know what your relay power supplies output voltage is?

It may be that your LED's have an integrated current limiting resistor, as available from some manufacturers!

Paul.

If you want to run a little less power through your LEDs but don't want the voltage of a 1k in series, try a 100ohm in parallel with the LED.

Mileage may vary but I have built several amps using no limiting resistors for the leds. Knock on wood no troubles yet.

No they are just regular red 5mm led's.

Yeah I suppose that would work.

I'll probably never get around to it. If one of them burnt out I would be more eager to tear it apart and do it.

I did that and BOTH LED's blew out in the midde of a gig and disabled the footswitch. I had another with no LED's in it as a backup.

Now I have dropping resistors in it and I'm having a wierd problem where it just stops working. The LED lights and no switching. The panel switch works fine. I'm at a loss on this one.

Maybe I should post these again - fail safe method for the light on with relay. I generally use 100 ohm for 5V relays

Yes, that's how I wired it this time, but it's 12V so the resistor is larger, can't remember off hand.
