I'm confused by what you mean by this.
Are you saying powering up immediately by just flipping the on switch on a rack mounted power strip will not harm the tube (i.e. no warm up needed)?? thanks
That is bascially what I am saying, since we're talking about a 12AX7 here. I actually dont know of any other units (rackmount or pedals) that use a 12AZ& tube and that have a "standby" switch on them.

Hmmm, don't know when that picture was taken, but it seems Mr. Ford or his tech likes EH preamp tubes. :D

on 3/6/08 Robbens amps both had JJ preamp tubes, one amp had sovtek 5881 output, the other had what looked like GT re-branded winged C's.

Maybe the EH tubes were for the Dumbleator?

At the time of the photo the EH was the HAD recommended 12AX7 (according to his tech IIRC). I think I've read that the more recent re-tube may have been done by LC's tech.

Gil,

I'm afraid 17-7513 is a date code, made in the 13th week of 75. I was able to find out that Triad Magnetics stamps their chokes this way and that it is likely one of these (case type X): http://triadmagnetics.com/catalog_templ ... egoryId=68

I'm guessing it's something along the lines of C-3X. What do you think?
