Hi Tony
Just wondered if you got to the bottom of what makes this amp Bloom?

Re: 102 Feedback City
To be honest not a definitive enough answer to say for sure this is what you need to do.I will say that it's not 1 thing in particular but many that contributes to the feedback anomaly.. I am still working on it..Sorry I couldn't be of any further help!!lovetone wrote:Hi Tony

Nah, you should surround it with mystery and folklore.
In other words a trade secret.

Sorry to re-resurrect an old thread, but this one has really got me.
Hey Tony,
Did you ever get to the bottom of this feedback, sustainy, bloomy thing?

Re: 102 Feedback City
Guys, I never stopped thinking about Tony's particular lively 102 amp.
Having just read the two new books by Merlin, Designing power supplies adn preamps, in which Merlin puts an emphasis om the fact that sound travels through the PSU as well as through the ordinary circuit.
Maybe the answer to Tony's feedback happy amp lies in
- the caps or
- dropping resistors
- 'lead dress'
of Node 4 and 5.
