I ordered values for lowplate and highplate too. These NTE 1/2 Watt "Flameproof" metal film seem to be of higher quality than the KOA Speer metal films I've been using in other builds. I feel slightly better about ripping out the Electra MF7Cs now.

I did the conversion from High Plate to Low Plate last night leaving the Skyliner tonestack configuration intact. V1/V2 plate voltages went down a bit. Maybe 5V each. I decided to just do the lowplate conversion first and play it for a few days before I convert over to the Classic tonestack.
Sonically, the amp seems a bit brighter and more diffused. It's also slightly more compressed (non-dynamic) though that may be due to the lower plate voltages. My Strat seems to sound better through it with than it did High Plate. Less gainy and more stringy. Humbuckers seem to have less "grunt" though. The clean sound has a bit more of that airy "Fender" quality to it in feel, but it still doesn't have the "Sparkle."

IME low plates are good for SC's (they give a certain 'zing', but the classic stack has more impact in regards to achieving the air and sparkle thing.
When I use Classic stack in my #183 and #102 high plate amps, I sounds very close to my #124 low plate classic.
Have you tried to disconnect the LNFB? better without it for SC, IMO.
bluesfendermanblues: I'm definitely going to do the Classic tonestack. I just wanted to get a feel for what the low plates did to the circuit. I haven't tried disconnecting LNFB in this configuration, though I did have it on a bypass switch at one point. I thought it had too much bass with the high-plates, but I can see how it might be worth exploring more with this iteration.
In the spirit of documenting this amp in nauseating detail, here's a video of the amp in Lowplate configuration. Same guitar/settings as Classic Power supply video I posted last week: http://youtu.be/QLC1Mst40lo
