I've had the opportunity to meet many of the successful builders on this forum at amp shows and NAMM. They're a great bunch of people and I'm fortunate to call many of them friends. But to join their ranks as an entreprenuer? No thanks! I think I'll keep my day job.

Re: Yet another D-Style Amp......
There's a strong attraction to enter the clone market. (Low cost of entry, readily available information and parts, and very satisfying work.) However, IMHO, the struggle of starting and running a business overshadows the joy of building amps. I wish these startups well, but don't expect to see them around very long.

Marsh Overlord Supreme...
Actually, a Ceriatone Chassis is not a bad thing, neither are the Caps. There are Handwired in the US. and it cost me less than half a Fuchs!!! Not everyone can build there own. BTW, He publically admits he buys the parts from Nik. you should talk to him. Mike actually answers the phone!

Nothing against Mike but what about "handwired in the U.S." makes anything better? I'd rather have it done well. We can talk about location later. If you have a beef with off-shore manufacturing, then you shouldn't be happy with Ceriatone parts.Thadman wrote:There are Handwired in the US.
Am I confused???
Re: Yet another D-Style Amp......
for one thing, if i need help or want it tweaked, i'm not sending it overseas!!! Otherwise point taken.

Your not going to sell many amps with clips like that on your front page. Known players will sell more hey.....

Hi Chaps,
and another........
I recently sold a guitar to this guy and we spoke at length about his amps. He's building in the Dumbleator and reverb and a couple of other tweaks.
