Markus , did you send payment for the kit? , if so I guess you'll have to wait.

Funkalicousgroove wrote:What timeframe did he quote when you ordered? Moss is a great guy and I doubt he is doing anything to wrong you intentionally- I know that when folks order an amp from me they can expect to wait 12 or so months- these things take time :D

FWIW, this is probably not the place to air such grevances, have you tried calling him?
I am also sure that Moss is a great guy, hell he's an amp builder like us so he must be !
Also, I definitely didn't want to create problems with this thread but:
- I live oversea (used to live in Belgium in March 09, now Japan GMT+9)
- I don't have his phone number
- He doesn't answer mails
- He doesn't answer PM

Therefore I needed help from other amp builders mates living in the states, who maybe know him and can contact him.

BTW, Many times (in May, June, September) he promised me that the amp would be out in just a few days. I am still waiting.

Though, I am sure the kit will be awesome !

Thanks!

Antoine

Oh my, well, as I was not involved in any of your transaction I can not comment, could it have been sent and held by customs dept? I know that when I ship overseas there are issues unless I provide a phone number-

That can certainly happen to goods entering the U.K. If airfreight via UPS / DHL is used as a carrier then they are more pro active at tracking you down / notifying you. If goods travel via surface, they end up with our good old 'Post Office' where they can sit for weeks.

yes brownnote is very high quality, you wont get the same from another at that price. Value for money triple plus.

What did moss say when you bought the amp? You did ask what his time frame was.? Remember often this is a side gig, things like family emergencies, hospital stays, or loss of day work can throw a kink in the whole thing.

Your grievance is personal. Glad its on the way.

If you have done a few of these before a 2 week build should be plenty of time, in the evenings, stay focused. Very high quality, everythings punched, fits, etc...Almost no tuning should be required if you explicitly follow the layout and instructions...Untill next year....

You get what you pay for. A lower quality product may have already arrived, but is life worth shorting ourselves?

Of course I did. He said, in march 09, that it would take 2 weeks.
As months went by, I kept sending emails and he kept promising that it would be out in a few days.

And this lasted for 8 months....

I called him last week, he promised me that this week he would ship it.

Still no news...

I hope this matter will be sorted out soon.

just try to wait it out guys.
I had to wait 9 months for a speaker cabinet KIT. It wasnt even built yet it took the guy 9 months to send me the parts. This was a simple 1x10 with a rotating cone ala Leslie.

But i finally got it, built it, and it sounds awesome. :)
It's true i've lost my marbles and i cant remember where i put them

Toh220,

Bummer to hear about the long wait. I had quite a wait (22 kit) as well but certainly not 8 months. My feeling is Moss should just be upfront and say, "This is probably going to take a long time....I am very back logged but I'll get it to you when I can"...instead of the (hate to say it) run around. The fact that the amps are very good makes the situation all the more unpeasant. Hang in there....

BTW....Where are you at? If you're close I'll lend you my D'Lite22/44 to hold you over.

Cheers,

Chris

When I ordered in late 06/or 07 and recall I had a 4 month wait. Personally I think this is reasonable given the quality of what I got. That was a while ago too, back on the first run.

Speaking from experience sourcing chassies and getting good OT's (especially in bulk) can take a few months or more just getting the parts from the manufacturer. I even had to wait for 2 1/2 months for a dynaco once.

My biggest complaint is I haven’t heard from brownnote since Nov 15th.
