I found that the best settings for bias varies from 50% to 60% max...
The power stage on this amplifiers has to stay linear and somewhat "cold"
I'm running a quartet of TungSol 6L6GC-STR with a B+ of 470V at 36mA and they sounds nice and full, without a bit of breakup even at very high master settings.
Please confirm me this treble bleed schema...

My favorite plate voltage is 470 volts - what power transformer are you using?massygt6 wrote:I'm running a quartet of TungSol 6L6GC-STR with a B+ of 470V at 36mA and they sounds nice and full, without a bit of breakup even at very high master settings.

I'm using a custom built power transformer, 360-0-60-360, 550mA, is really fat and massive...but I love to go a little overkill, the benefits in terms of dynamics and definition are great imho.heisthl wrote:My favorite plate voltage is 470 volts - what power transformer are you using?massygt6 wrote:I'm running a quartet of TungSol 6L6GC-STR with a B+ of 470V at 36mA and they sounds nice and full, without a bit of breakup even at very high master settings.
