Follow up question, what are you guys doing in regards to feedback loop

a)
4.7k on 4 ohm tap
to 390 ohm/1uf/
2k presence pot

Or

b)
8k on 4 ohm tap
to 1k/1uF
2k presence pot

I use the latter, since I find it open up the amp a little more.....

I agree with what your saying about choice B, but I still generally use choice A.

After a couple hours of soldering/playing/soldering/playing etc.

I am a happy ceriatone cumble clone tuner :D

heisthl's suggestion regarding the 100k's in the amp did it. I am really amazed that four resistors could make such an improvement.

Yes, the OD was my problem, but the solution resolved from V1 values.

a) 100k/1,5k x 2 on V1
b) bright cap is 270p (however, I've "split it into 47p whick is stock on the volume and 220p which is on the switch to be paralled to the 47p)
c) 5uf on v1a and 10uf on V1b
d) the 15p on the master volume doesn't hurt either (bedroom bright)
e) small rc filter on the input of v2 consisting of 10m from the relay to ground to a 47n to the input 220k before the trimmer.
f) snubber capacitors on v2 is 2 x 390 p
g) resistor before retio pot is 150k (instead of 180k)
h) feedback loop is 8k from 4ohm tap to 1k paralled with 1uf and the 2k presence pot.

I'm very suppriced that - in particular - the 100k/1.5 values on V1 did such a tremendous difference to the attack and graniness of the overdrive. I can do crunch chords and if still sounds great.

I am now he proud owner of a clone, that is close to bringing the Robben F touch sound, which is freaking amazing. Now I gotta practice a lot to get my chops together.
