Dlator Values

All My values came from an actual unit pictured in the files section, it belongs to a member here.

the 3rd (Middle)knob should be turned all the way up unless you have REALLY hot signal from your fx unit.

I have seen a number of these units (pictures of course) with the 3rd knob on the back.

I have only seen the Dumbleator II with a choke, the part # on top of the choke is 73C18641-2 H5157908

The original power transformer from these was an off the shelf part made for tube volt meters, I can't find the choke anywhere, but my guess is it is another off the shelf part, it's teeny and open frame-

How comparable is this loop to a D'Lator?

I have looked at that loop as it is very similar. I the KOC loop is what Andy puts in the Fuchs amps. At least I think that may be the case.

I suspect everyone on this board has see this picture of Roben Ford's guitar. However, look in the right lower corner and zoom in:

1. RF's Dumbleator has a choke.
2. It is not open frame.
3. Looks like the ON-OFF, Standby and GROUND switches on the front panel have been deactivated (as well they should, IMO).

Some more information: the choke replaces the 15K resistor.

Especially for my man Brandon, who has taken this art further than anyone else on the planet!

I have seen other good Dumbleators with chokes. In one of them, the choke is open frame, and the part number is:

17-7513

I don't have them in a clean format. Hand written notes I took over the phone.

KOC sells these as a kit, and it wasn't unreasonably priced when I got it. There is also a diagram in his TUT3 book, but it is copyrighted. So I'd be reluctant to post a diagram for fear of taking bread off the man's plate.

I am 100% sure that Mr. O'Connor took many a bread from many a plate when he wrote his TUT book. But, never mind, let the man eat.

I'm confused by what you mean by this.
Are you saying powering up immediately by just flipping the on switch on a rack mounted power strip will not harm the tube (i.e. no warm up needed)?? thanks
