classictone has a nice new twin PT with low and high voltage taps. It delivers around 470v on the high voltage taps and delivers 450mA

Stiffening up the secondary reflection is a common method for tweaking an amps tone (especially 6l6s). Kimock runs 16 ohm cabinets on an 8 ohm tap, and for what it's worth before his sss amps came along Stevie Rays vibroverbs had a 2 ohm super reverb OPT hooked up to an 8 ohm EVM 15L.

Typically this will give you less power and bring the midrange forward (attenuation at the frequency extremes). Another important factor is the effect this has on the feedback/presence values, you may not be hearing what HAD intended without the proper-improper load.
