Re: New build complete: CE Silverface 6V6 HRM
The OT has been mounted and heater string almost completed. FYI, this PS board was setup for the first cap node after the standby switch (only 6 eyelets), but I set it up as it's normally done with the standby switch after the first cap bank.
As with the previous build using this style of board, I mounted an insulated 3 eyelet terminal board under the main power board which terminates the standby switch out, choke in and OT B+.

TM,
Do you have a picture of the extra terminal board you added?
Do you feel it makes wiring easier or cleaner?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: New build complete: CE Silverface 6V6 HRM
Sorry Steve I didn't take a pic. It's just a .500 x 3.00" board with 3 eyelets which are jumped together and each board side is insulated with a backer board.steve_p wrote:TM,

I purchased these PS boards from a member here a few years ago. Normally D style precision PS boards have 8 eyelet terminations facing the tubes, this particular board only has 6 terminations. I just needed a work around to keep the same functionality as a typical PS board. Thus, no advantage of sort.

Ahh, cool.
The precision PS that I have is from jborders, so I already have the 8 eyelets.
Build looks great so far.

Now the hard part is finally over. Well I'm on the fence about the HRM daughter board, eventhough I purchased the items the other day to etch a board. I think I'm going with my original idea of the integral PA/HRM board setup.

Looking good TM
So are you going to use the HRM board you have on hand?
Hoping to see pics for future reference.

Nope, going back to my original intergral HRM layout. While the daughter board is nice and modular, it's just another PITA cog to work around for mounting to the main board. I don't really the resolution of those tiny 10mm trimmers, so I have bounty out on 25K & 250K Piher carbon 15mm(3 leg mount) vertical adjust trimmers.dcribbs1412 wrote:Looking good TM

Do you have a drawing of your main board with the HRM included?
DXF or other cad file would be killer so I could just drop it on to the milling machine, but anything would be good too...
Thanks,
Steve

Been about 3 weeks, time to finish this one up. Need to tack in 4 strands of coax, mount the PT and then the grid stoppers.

As usual, the build looks great. I'm always impressed with your part selections. Seems like your are straying from the 6PS convention, care to fill us in on your cap choices and the thoughts behind them?
Is that a switch on the back of the mid pot! For?
Also, I'd second the request for a copy of the main board layout. I have a custom rj chassis that I had made up a 6V6 HRM and the board would move the project along nicely.
Thanks for your consideration.
Eric
