No problem Mark
Its helps me to upload stuff for others to see/check/make fun of etc... nice to go back later for reference...working at taking better/clearer pics.
Again just want to say I am very thankful to all for sharing their hard work and experiences. This forum along with it's members has given me knowledge and confidence to learn what I hope is a lifelong satisfying hobby/obsession.(blah blah blah...too sappy
)
Happy Holidays

Re: Peavey Donor amp build
Here's the 1st mockup of what I hope will be a decent clean amp...(keyboards/steel guitar)
nothin new...low plate no OD into Fender reverb ..I might run the FET
off a relay maybe PAB also...if I can get the relay power setup right.
Thanks to Bob-I for showing me which direction to start in
Comments and suggestions are appreciated

Re: Peavey Donor amp build
Where are you planning to locate the relays? You might consider moving the PS to allow the relays to go between the boards.

Will do Bob...looking at pics of a build from another member here erwin_ve.Bob-I wrote:Where are you planning to locate the relays? You might consider moving the PS to allow the relays to go between the boards.
I'm thinking you mean something more like this...

Yea, either way will work. Be careful to not cover the chassis mount bolt holes (how do I know about that... Trust me... I do)dcribbs1412 wrote:Will do Bob...looking at pics of a build from another member here erwin_ve.Bob-I wrote:Where are you planning to locate the relays? You can see in my layout I took advantage of the chassis width and included the relays on the main board.

Re: Peavey Donor amp build
Yes nice layout Bob thanks...ton of room in this chassis...kind of a shame I'm not using much of it with this simple build. At one time I had visions of the dreaded 3 S's type build...but brought myself back to reality.Bob-I wrote:Yea, either way will work. I almost screwed my relays with that chassis mount bolt, even with some room left, putting the screw in under a angle can have a unexpected resultBob-I wrote:Yea, either way will work. Darin:
If I had to do it again I also would move the main board to have some more room for the pots, this was a tight fit on that, doable but modding a tonestack would be a nightmare.

I'm finding that this chassis even with all its room is challenging...
