Or in Taco Bell's case... the rim you'll be painting 2 hours later.

I wonder why he would name it the "La Tostada" mod. Is the Bassman RI assembled in Mexico? I sold mine (too square and boxy sounding), so I can't find a label.

To the OP, in case you forgot, this is an amp building forum.

To not show the amp is a faux pas.

I'm sorry if I have upset anyone about this thread. I really just wanted to find out if ANYONE here has or has heard of this mod before. Anyone who knows Mr. Dumble, and the amps he has built would know that people from all over the world have copied his amps, mods. In knowing him, and speaking with him he is not too happy with this. so again with all due respect to him, I have decided NOT to show how this amp ticks. I know what I have, and truley feel fortunate to own something that he has worked on Hope ya'all find your true tone someday.

You could at least take a picture of the dumble label. Right now, we're all wondering if you're a troll.

He's a smart guy, I'm sure he knows that the ones who cannot afford his amplifiers and make reasonable copies of them for their own benefit aren't hurting his business. Clearly, those with succesfull business models haven't hurt his business either. Let's be honest, he has more "star" endorsement power than any other amplifier on the market (arguably). And supply is nearly zero (unless you're a star). The laws of supply and demand cannot be ignored so copies are an inevitability.

I never thought he was a troll.

I'll back the original poster on this one. In his defense he just asked a couple of general questions. If he doesn't want to show the guts, it's perfectly his right not to do so.

Nearly berating someone for not giving more detail will almost surely get you one thing, nothing more. Ever wonder why even more info isn't shared publicly here?

I agree. My apologies to the OP if I came across harshly. I certainly can't speak for anyone except myself.

I would be interested to see a little more about the amp. My conclusion on my comment were unanswered questions in my mind. Such as, why would Dumble modify a PCB amp and then release it in circulation. He's been so elusive and guarded about his amp building practice, it seems a bit out of character.

Again, my apologies!

ToneMerc - I agree with most of your comments. I never thought the OP was a troll either and he certainly can share any information that he wants.

The OP asked if anyone had a La Tostada and if they would share thoughts. He also asked about what pedal might be good with that amp. I think the collective answer from the forum is no, no and no. After that, a request was made to the OP to share some pics. He said he would post some pics soon. The pics he posted are not very interesting from the viewpoint of amp builders. That's fine. It would have been smart of him to also state that he would not post any gut shots in order to avoid the inevitable dissapointment and backlash that would result. Did he really think that pics of the outside were what we wanted? It's a bit like a very desirable woman rubbing herself all over you and then letting you know you can't have any. It's her right, but she's still an ass. BTW, being nice isn't going to get the OP to provide any information anyway. The OP was already aware of the situation based on his comments regarding his discussions with HAD and cloning etc... So, why does the OP come to this evil den of cloners to discuss his amp in the first place? I have my own answer, but I'll let everyone come to their own conclusion. We will continue doing what we do with or without information from the OP.

This thread should die a quick death.

Mr Dumble designed some great amps but even he copied from previous amp designs.

I find it really silly coming to an amp building forum and teasing builders about an amp like this. What was the intent?

This was my very first post ever on this site. I was excited to learn there was info on these Great amps. I simply was asking if anyone had heard of this mod before, as I was excited to hear replys. I really do not know a whole lot about this particular amp, and just was wondering if anyone out here had heard of it and could offer there thoughts. Now that I really see the big picture, Its clear to me that all some people really want is something else to copy. This to me is really sad. To those who really understand where I was comming from, Thank You. For those Knuckleheads that don't, well then Screw you! This is my first and FINAl post.I'll find out somewhere else. G'Daya. J.

From what I recall Mr D was enjoying a delicious tostada while working on a this particular amp. He tends to eat with his mouth open and oops! out spilled some salsa all over PCB creating the perfect short circuit, just like the Jose mod and presto la tostada was invented. 8)

All jokes aside, I have never even heard of the tostada mod and we are all very interested in knowing how it sounds or even just some kind of description other than it sounds like GOD. So please ignore the offensive people here ( even myself ) and tell us more about this amp.

Todd
