I've used a Vibrolux PT with a Bassman OT a few times. It works great. You will need to separate the PT and OT by a fair distance to avoid hum induced by magnetic flux of the PT. I ended up having about 6 inches between them, as you can see in the photo from the rear. Either way, I'd definitely recommend the 'headphone trick' to figure out what is needed in your build.
cheers,
Paul.

The 'Headphone trick' is where you install your PT and then before installing your OT, you attach a pair of headphones to the OT secondaries and listen for increase/decrease in hum, whilst moving the OT about in relation to the PT. It works really well if you replace the headphones with a guitar lead and input it into a working amp, so that you can set the volume level to taste.
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Ceriatone transformer
Just to clarify.
You must power up the PT that is mounted to the chassis.
It doesn't need to be connected to anything so make sure the ends of the wires not connected are insulated.
This powers up the magnetic flux around the PT so that you can then listen to the secondaries of the OT to find the quietest spot for the OT orientation wise.
