Regarding the treble cap.....It looks like you have the ceramic on the board and the polyester cap on the mid switch. Did you try this both ways? I thought the poly went on the board. Just curious..

Also, regarding the .005 cap with the 330pf cap for the mid boost.....how does this combination work with both the PAB and Mid boost enabled? Is it to much of a good thing

I currently have a .002 on my board with a 330pf cap.(like Gil's pics) I will probably at some point try the .002/390pf and also the .001/470pf per Dogears. My amp is sounding killer right now! Like you,.... I need to get mine in a cabinet soon so it is not so easy to tweak!

With the mid boost off it's the ceramic 330pF only, flipping the mid boost on parallels the 2 caps. It's not important where they're mounted but how they're activated.

You can never have too much of a good thing

Yes, it's a bit over the top but I like it that way. I like the mid boost more than the PAB but I've used both together.

I honestly think that .002/330 would be less over the top but I'm really liking the singing of this combination.

I just finished up my cabinet today. The most important part was ease of taking the chassis out .

I assume you mean the grid stopper because the actual grid resistor is the drive pot. I stuck with the 68k.

Several small additional suggestions....
Lastly, monkey around with the 180k OD2 grid. Try putting a 1M or 2M across it to see if you like the sound of a slightly smaller resistor. It may add some "sing" on top. Something like a 160k to 170k resistor does make a noticeable difference due to the miller effect.

Yes, I tried his suggestion. I'm convinced he hears things only dogs and small children can hear. I didn't find a difference until I reached about 150K. I have a 180K that measures about 170K in there now.
