Wanting to add Reverb to my Ceriatone ods clone HELP?
Well here's the story......
I have sum1 building me a Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w .But with a twist He's getting the power trany and output trany lacally to cut shipping costs...I beleieve he is going to make it a Bluesmster with the OD channel changed into the HRM Skyliner EQ and the clean channel left alone...
He's going to use a Fender Twin power trany because because they run 6 tubes? I am also going to have a Dumbleator built into it also...Is there a scematic out there to incorperate some kind of tube reverb? I was thinking I would like the amp two have the whole two rock custom reverb thing going on. I like oldskool fender blackface reverb too I have owned a ton of BF era amps.....hoping some some original Ideas from y'all. Because I am used to Fender reverb I can't get away from it. Was hoping that after this amp is built I can stop searching for the right amp... and maybe run a multiple Dumble'esque/marshall style rig!!!
Thanks.... I am open to anything

Best to keep it simple and build the amp as designed. Unless your builder has a lot of experience adding these types of circuits to existing amps, you're likely going to overwhelm him (and probably compromise the tone as well). An easier approach is to divide and conquer...straight up bluesmaster with stand-alone dumblelator or even a dumblelator with built in reverb. (Search for Glassman's reverb-a-loop)

Yes at the minimum you are talking about adding two tubes to an already crammed chassis.
With the four power tubes, there isn't any room for more tubes.
You may be able to squeeze a reverb tube in there but it will be very crowded.
That is why most build the outboard unit Dumbleator.

I would get a Brownnote kit instead.

Well the guy I have building the amp for me would build the reverb in the amp,I have been considering a dumbleator/reverb in a 4u rack mount box
but cant make up my mind....What would the pros and cons be of each?
tonal wise...and overall construction and build wise?

I really like you footer message. It reminds me of Warren Buffets rule no. 1: Don't loose money!boldaslove6789 wrote:Well the guy I have building the amp for me would build the reverb in the amp,I have been considering a dumbleator/reverb in a 4u rack mount box

Why 4u? I build my loop-a-lator with built in digi-log reverb in a 1uboldaslove6789 wrote:Well the guy I have building the amp for me would build the reverb in the amp,I have been considering a dumbleator/reverb in a 4u rack mount box

The only reason for tube reverb is because at the time it was invented that's all there was- it's noisy, and problematic.

You could do that, some carefull layout etc. Just look at all that is squeezed into a Red Plate chassis!

Not everyone is Henry!!

Normster has a great reverb schemo on his web site, integrates well with the dumble....While straightforward is a bit more work than the standard build.
its not a blackface style reverb though. single tube.
And what they said about too many tubes. It really depends on how big the chassy is. If your running 6 power tubes thats a lot of real estate.
I do some tiny builds (as henry does) and have fit a 50watt with built in reverb dumble style into a 10x15x2" chassy. It was crammed, and I will never go through that again unless someone pays an arm and a leg. If you are pushing the builder to make it really small, make sure you pay him extra dollars for that, or he will be very unhappy when all is said and done.
