Bluesmaster <-> Regular non HRM
Hi Guys
what is the diffenece in sound between a regular non HRM and a Bluesmaster. both clean and OD?
I found a nice Brown Note clip where they said a bluesmaster is basicly a Fender with a Marshall OD? I did a seach on the forum but couln't find a clear answer.
Is it hard to change a regular into a Bluesmaster?
The question came in my head when I heard Jon Heingtons clip. In the forum there's a nice MP3 of Scott using a Bluesmaster as well.
I must confess I have some reservations about the Youtube demo of Scott playing that blue Bludo. Sounded very dark but that might have been the recordig ofcouse.

Sorry I didn't mean to make a negative remark about your amp Brandon.
Was hoping for an answer though

Re: Bluesmaster <-> Regular non HRM
there's a lot to change to convert a non HRM skyliner type amp into a bluesmaster. It's probably no harder than building an amp from scratch but it's a lot of work.
Re: Bluesmaster <-> Regular non HRM
Thanks That's clearly not an option.

All you gotta do is changing
- 4 resistors (plates/cathodes) on V2
- changing caps in the tone stack (between V1a and V1b)
- and adding a post od tone stack
This can be done in a couple of hours.
Unless you can build a complete amp in 2 hours, its probably easier to mod your existing amp. I you don't like the mods you just revert to present specs.

And both relay boards need to be rewired as well as the PI and presence along with several pots. It's a job, especially if you want it to look good when you're done.
Re: Bluesmaster <-> Regular non HRM
I wasn't to sure about the tonal difference between the amps.
I have been reading some information on a comparable amp. Although I have the impression the clean sound is pretty good, I'm not sure about the OD. I'll leave my OTS the way it is (maybe some minor tweaks)
Thanks any way guys

I thought the PI and presence circuit were different as well.bluesfendermanblues wrote:Come ontubedogsmith wrote:there's a lot to change to convert a non HRM skyliner type amp into a bluesmaster. It's probably no harder than building an amp from scratch but it's a lot of work.![]()

Re: Bluesmaster <-> Regular non HRM
In addition to the aforementioned changes, the clean tonestack wiring and pot values, PAB, OD entrance, OD coupling network, OD drive/level pots, OD/clean switching, and LNFB loop are also different.
It's not exactly trivial.
