Vacuum Tube Valley in California has these too. I pulled the datasheet, it is as they say, if this is to be believed, this is a special lot that is basically a 7027A/7581A that unfortunately uses an external plate connection. It has 35W Pa rating.

I would not use it as a gigging amp tube myself because of that. For historic comparison, the '69 Ampeg SVT/V9 came out with 6146Bs as power tubes. Great tube but the Stones wreaked havoc on them on tour and Ampeg changed them to 6550s for 1970 and later, because external plate connected tubes don't travel well in a band context.

Under "controlled conditions" ie no touring abuse, yes, these tubes will give you a cheapo 7027A/7581A.

Given the price of NOS 7581As, it's worth a try if you want to see what +500V Vp will buy you in a 6L6GC type tube that's not going to be banged around.

Yes, 6L6GC/7027A/7581A. This 6BG6 has 7581A guts so it has Pa=35W, instead of 30W as in the 6L6GC. The only difference is the plate connection.
