When I hit the footswitch to go from clean to OD, often the OD volume is very low and sounds somewhat strangled, for want of a better word. If I turn up the OD2 volume pot, eventually it will suddenly break thru and it's OK, back to where I set it.
Since that pot feeds the relay switches I'm thinking that's where the problem is. Maybe a dry solder joint on the in or out relay contact in the OD position.
Anyone have this situation?

Next time that happens, without touching anything, try to measure where the resistance is higher than it should be between circuit points.

Re: Intermittent connection in ODS circuit
Thanx for the tip. I just checked all the relay joints to the little PCB I mounted it on and sure enuff one was dry. I put the soldering iron tip to it and presto! I was getting 1M on it both ways now I get 0.3R and 1M so it's working right I think. It was the feed from the OD2 pot back into the relay. The hook up wire joint from the pot was good, it was the relay pin itself to the PCB that was dry.
I should have bought physically bigger relays, these are the successor to the one listed in the generic ODS bill of material in the Dumble files section, and they don't fit a standard DIP socket, too narrow.
What suitable 12V relays DO fit a standard DIP socket??? Anyone using relays bigger than what fit a DIP socket?

I use these and they work great and fit the sockets.
