I am thinking of biting the bullet and buying a MM tranny for a friend build, just to see for myself what all the hooplah is about. I was thinking on getting this one: FBFBM-OM which is a Toneclone Bassman 4-8-16. Anybody see an issue with that? Also, does anyone know of a standup PT that would have a bias tap and Bassman voltages? I got to order this stuff by Monday. I have had good luck with the 50 watt Mag Components Marshall trannies from AES, but miss the bias tap. OTOH, I can run EL-34's with the MC if needed...
thanks

I'm very curious about trying a MM OT as well, so I'll be watching this one!Tonegeek wrote:I am thinking of biting the bullet and buying a MM tranny for a friend build, just to see for myself what all the hooplah is about. FWIW, I used the MC PT and OT from AES as well for my last 50W BM build (funny how we keep running into each other Tonegeek!

Hi Tonegeek,
MM will also supply their trannies in all the common mounting formats.
Look in the FAQ's section and at the bottom of the list is:
http://www.mercurymagnetics.com/pages/n ... Mounts.htm
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Paul.

Yes we do. I thought when i joined AG, I might build one amp (just out of necessity to get better tone) and then I would be out of here, but funny how it draws you in for more. I am l kind of a binge drinker with this place. I hit it hard for a while (especially when I am building something) then back off. Its been really interesting here lately and I do like seeing the familiar crowd as well as the newcomers.odourboy wrote:I'm very curious about trying a MM OT as well, so I'll be watching this one!Tonegeek wrote:I am thinking of biting the bullet and buying a MM tranny for a friend build, just to see for myself what all the hooplah is about. I will let you know what trannies I settle on.
