I have made 3 amps now; A deluxe reverb, a pro reverb and a plexi. Now its time for a new challenge, a ODS Clone. I want to try sourcing my parts from mouser for the first time and part #’s are a little sketchy. I have tried to find them myself. There are some of the part number I think are correct below but I want to make sure. I am going to make a 50 watt ODS HRM. I’m sure you have had these questions before but I can’t seem to find them when I search. I am going to use Normster's layout without the Dumblator I want to build that separate. I also want to say thanks for all the great layout and infomation on this board.

I am also having a hard time sourcing a plain aluminum chassis (I don’t mind creating the holes). I would love one of Funkalicious’s but it seems like all of his chassis is 100W and I want to build a 50W and I think they have all been spoken for. I think I may use a Hammond or a Bud 17x8x3 chassis if I cant find a better unit for around $50 - 60. I’ve looked at komboking’s site but it seems like he has a family emergency.

This is what I have found for parts lists. This is Normster's and I hope its O.K. that I post it again. There is no numbers for the trim pots and ceramic caps. Those are the parts I have the biggest questions about. Thanks TJ

Search mouser for ceramic disc caps, 1KV. I use the Vishay sprague http://www.mouser.com/catalog/628/664.pdf Any of these will do, but buy extras. These often leak DC or are at the edge of tolerance. Measure before installing and check for DC leakage.

Buy one of Brandon's and plug (Mouser) or cover two of the octal socket holes. Weber sells nice steel socket covers for USD 5 ea. that you can screw on the chassis through the existing holes in the chassis. This is how 50W Dumbles were made, too.
I would be interested in that but would I have a hard time with transformer mounting? I have had great expirences with Allen transformers and have his TP40 and TO60 that I was planning on using. If other 50 watt iron would fit his chassis I would consider purchasing another set of transformers. Thanks TJ

I need some help with a dumbleator. I understand the schematics that I have seen around but there is no power supply on the schematics. I need to know what transformer to use and what style of rectifier and filtering to use with it.
One more question I am going to use webers switching boards (I purchased them when I got my 12" Californias a while ago). Should I use a seperate transformer to supply these boards or just the heater from my PT? I guess my qustion is has anyone had success with these switches?

Basically any small PS will do, as long as you can get 240-250VDC out of it. It only takes a few ma to drive a single tube. I used this PS from hoffmanamps.com

I've used the heaters with success. Connect it so that the Normally Closed position is the OD side, apply power for the clean side, it's quieter that way.

You can find blank chassis here. Click on 'Chassis' on the left and then 'Blank Chassis'. None of them are the exact size of a D-style amp, but you should find something suitable.
Ken Watts chassis are nice I used the 20x8x2.5 for the 80w Express.
You can get any type chassis you want made up on that site too but there is a 10 unit minimum. You just send Ken an email with your specs and he has the chassis built for you. Maybe you could sell the extras.
