D'lite Circuit DIY list?

Post by Pr3Va1L »

Hello,

I was wondering if there was any Bill of Material available somewhere for the Brown Note D'lite...

I got parts laying all around and I'd like to not order a full kit, but I'd need a list to see what I have/what I need.

Thanks a lot!

Sorry I don't no why it's so big but you should be able to shrink it down.

I don't know if it would be worth outsourcing the parts on my own rather than just buying the kit. I have a lot of spare parts. But, is there a part list with mouser part numbers in it?
At least for the electronic components like resistors, caps, etc.

Failure is not an option... it comes bundled with the kit.

Tip for beginners:
Unless you already have a lot of parts in stock, you'll rarely save anything by ordering the parts yourself. You'll likely have quite a few frustrating moments realizing that you've ordered the wrong part or forgotten to order a part. The beauty of a complete kit is you can focus on building the amp without week-long interruptions waiting for the next part from Mouser. BTW, this is by no means a plug for Brownnote kits. It applies to any amp you choose to build.

If you've built a few amps before and have lots of different components on hand, you'll likely be able to look over the schematic and figure out what you need to order and from whom. OTOH, it IS a learning experience ordering parts. Over the past few years I've accumulated a pretty impressive array of parts that I'll never use.

I think the biggest plus in ordering the kit is having a decent looking chassis. Of the D'Lite's I've built, all but one have been from scratch. I've saved a hundred or so on each one buy sourcing parts myself, but the chassis isn't as nice and it's taken some leg work to figure out how to search for some of the things I'm unfamiliar with on Mouser, like the testing points for the bias control.

Not to mention shipping costs from different vendors, which adds up quickly. Good point Norm
Thanks
